Dr. Samuel L. Sharmat, MD, President of Sharmat Psychiatric Group, is a board certified psychiatrist well known for his abilities as a psychiatric diagnostician, treatment planner, and addictionologist. His intensive evaluation and diagnostic approach has been demonstrated to result in better outcomes and an improved sense of well-being for patients. Dr. Sharmat was the recipient of the 2016 Caron Medical Professional Award and served on the Executive Council of the New York County Psychiatric Society for 11 years. Scott Landfried, PMHNP, Nurse Practitioner, is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner specializing in psychopharmacology. He received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas – Austin and his advanced nursing degree at The City University of New York Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing where he trained in a variety of outpatient settings with patients across the lifespan. As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Mr. Landfried has worked in the non-profit outpatient setting; prior, he worked as an RN for almost a decade in an extensive variety of mental health and substance use settings. Scott has a special interest in treating clients with mood, anxiety, psychotic, personality, and substance use disorders as well as the LGBTQ population.
