Samuel L. Sharmat, M.D., a board-certified psychiatrist with a subspecialty in addiction treatment, is Medical Director of the Addiction Treatment Center and Psychiatrist for the Department of HIV/AIDS at North General Hospital. He sits on the Executive Council of the New York City District Branch of the APA and on the Clinical Advisory Boards of Caron and Promises Treatment Centers. Additionally, he teaches and supervises Psychiatry residents and serves as a diagnostic consultant for area professionals.
