Today I opened my mail to find something totally unexpected from an insurance company:
A totally unsolicited letter informing me that a claim has been paid to the patient. What’s this? I asked myself. A courtesy notice from an insurance company? Usually I have to navigate a complicated maze to get any information out of an insurance company. Getting money out them is even tougher. Well, BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois is now my “teachers pet” of insurance companies. They “did good” in notifying me that a claim was taken care of. It’s too bad I mostly deal with Aetna and BlueCross BlueShield of New York. Who knows, maybe they’ll learn some lessons from Illinois one day….
